In addition to the standard edition, Issue A (with colored covers) existed from No. 24 - 1941 to No. 18 - 1944 for distribution abroad. The covers as well as the contents differed from the normal issues. This collection contains these special editions.
Contents were the soldier life, World War 1, advertisements, novels, weapons, vehicles, reports of armies of the world, sport and soldiery, theaters of war worldwide.
During the war the campaigns against Poland, France and the Soviet Union as well as the air raids on England were reported in detail with numerous pictures and maps.
The page numbers decreased sharply during the war.
In addition to the "normal" issues, some special issues were released which cofused on certain topics, such as Legion Condor, annexation of Austria or the defeat of France.
The magazine was discontinued with No. 18 in September 1944.
During the Second World War, the title "The Wehrmacht Issue A" was published for foreign countries (occupied territories in Europe). The issues were provided with colored cover pages and the content differed partly from the normal edition.
